Equistone-backed Amadys acquires PRO-Kunststoff GmbH
The Amadys Group is expanding its market position as a full-service provider of end-to-end connectivity solutions in Germany by acquiring PRO-Kunststoff GmbH, an experienced logistics partner for network operators and construction companies. Through the acquisition, Amadys complements its high-quality portfolio as a system provider for passive network components and can offer customers a complete range of products and services for fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) expansion from a single source.
From the Point of Presence distributor to house connection, for the FTTH broadband expansion to be successful, all components are important. This is why Amadys is expanding its fibre expertise with PRO-Kunststoff GmbH and taking over a proven specialist in components for passive broadband infrastructure. "The acquisition of PRO-Kunststoff GmbH is an excellent addition to the capabilities and business areas of Muth Kommunikationstechnik GmbH and tso GmbH, which were recently acquired by the Amadys Group," says Arthur Graevendiek, Managing Director of Amadys Germany, and continues: "We are particularly pleased that this will enable us to offer our German customers know-how and experience in supporting construction companies in FTTH expansion. We are thus further expanding our portfolio as a system provider to the German market."
PRO-Kunststoff GmbH, based in Rüsselsheim, Germany, was founded in 1985 as a distributor of plastic components for infrastructure and industrial construction. Today, the focus of the company, which has 24 employees and 6,500 square metres of storage, is on the rapidly growing market for broadband infrastructure. As an experienced logistics partner for network operators and construction companies, PRO-Kunststoff GmbH offers customers a comprehensive range of innovative quality products like microducts, microcable, manholes and house connection.
"We are looking forward to continuing to grow together with Amadys and to provide our customers with a complete range of services for FTTH expansion," says Michael Helfrich, managing director and owner of PRO-Kunststoff GmbH. The owners and managing directors Michael Helfrich and Erik Maier-Rebenich of PRO Kunststoff GmbH will re-invest in Amadys and remain with the company as managing directors. "In this way, we want to further the development of PRO-Kunststoff GmbH as well as that of the entire Amadys Group in the German market," says Helfrich.
Post the acquisition of PRO-Kunststoff GmbH, the Amadys Group will employ more than 300 people. The company has branches in the Benelux, Germany, Denmark, Austria and Slovakia.
